Charter of Demand submitted by PTCL Trade Unions Action Committee

1- Stop the privatization of PTCL, end the downsizing and retrenchment.
2- Increase wages, according to the company pay scale already submitted by the unions.
3- Regularize all the daily wages and contract workers .
4- Restore the 15000 jobs and fill these vacancies to promote and recruit new workers.
5- Up grade all the employees working in 1 to 15 scale, promote all the skilled and highly qualified workers to the next stage.
6- End discrimination against women workers and provide equal opportunities to them, provide them free transport and 6 month maternity leave with pay.
7- Gave full payment on the leave in cashmment and increase the over time to double it.
8- Implement all the agreements made with unions so far without any delay.
9- Stop interference in the unions, stop victimization of trade union activists and withdraw all the cases against them.
10- Re nationalize all the public call offices and customer services center and cancel all the contracts made with private companies.
11- Provide medical treatment to all the workers without any discrimination. Stop Corruption and improve the standard of medical centers.
12- Sign new package with unions , which is due from last 6 years.
13- Build new residential colonies to provide decent residence to workers.
14- Provide house building advance at once and at least 100 basic pays. Stop paying House building advance in installments.
15- Respect all trade union rights under the ILO convention and stop violations of these rights.
16- Provide jobs to children’s of deceased workers, which were died during the service. Restore children and dependent quota for workers in the jobs.
17- Implement all four demands of united workers actions committee, accepted by the management in March 2005.
18- Provide all the basic tools and instruments to field staff that they can do their duty properly.
19- Provide motorcycles to all the line man’s as agreed by the management in 1998.
20- Stop restructuring of PTCL and improve the services and skills of workers.

This charter of demands was presented to management on 25th April 2005.
